Village homestays in Nepal
Pick a village. Stay with a family.
Pick a village. Stay with a family.
A homestay here is somebody's house. You get a room in a working family home in a rural village β not a guesthouse built for visitors β and you eat what the household eats, usually dal bhat, usually grown nearby. Gramaya lists 119 such homes across 21 villages in Nepal, hosted by 73 families.
You book online, and you pay your host in cash when you arrive β there is no prepayment, no card, and no deposit. Your host confirms the request themselves, so you are agreeing a stay with a person rather than with a booking engine. How booking works.
Some of these are single-family homes; others are community homestays run by a village committee, where member families take turns hosting and you are told which family you are with when you arrive.
