1. Who We Are

Gramaya is a marketplace platform that connects guests with independent rural homestay hosts in Nepal. We do not own, operate, or manage any of the properties listed on the platform.

By using Gramaya — as a guest, host, or visitor — you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. User Responsibilities

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or make a booking.
  • You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information when registering.
  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your account with others.
  • You must not use Gramaya to harass, defraud, impersonate, or harm other users.
  • Guests are responsible for their own behaviour during a stay and for treating host properties with respect.
  • Any conduct that damages the trust or safety of the community may result in account suspension.

3. Host Responsibilities

  • Hosts must accurately describe their property, location, rooms, amenities, and pricing. Misrepresentation is a violation of these terms.
  • Hosts must honour all confirmed bookings except in documented emergencies. Repeated cancellations of confirmed bookings will result in account review.
  • Hosts are solely responsible for ensuring their property is safe, habitable, and maintained to a reasonable standard.
  • Hosts must disclose any relevant safety information — nearby hazards, limitations of access, or requirements for guests — before or at the time of booking.
  • Hosts are responsible for complying with all applicable local laws and regulations relating to homestay hosting, taxation, and property use.

4. Booking & Payment Terms

  • A submitted booking is a request, not a confirmed reservation. The stay is confirmed only when the host accepts it.
  • Digital payments via eSewa and Khalti are governed by the terms of those respective platforms. Gramaya is not liable for gateway errors or delays.
  • For cash bookings, payment terms are agreed upon directly between the guest and host. Gramaya does not mediate cash transactions.
  • Gramaya deducts a platform commission from the host's earnings on each completed booking. The commission rate is disclosed to hosts at the time of listing creation.
  • Payment disputes should be reported via the support page with your booking ID and transaction details. We will review and respond within 3 business days.

5. Content Ownership

Any text, photos, or reviews you upload to Gramaya remain your intellectual property.

By uploading content, you grant Gramaya a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce, and distribute that content on the platform for the purpose of operating the service. This licence ends when you remove the content or close your account.

You confirm that you have the rights to any content you submit and that it does not infringe on third-party copyrights, trademarks, or privacy rights. Gramaya may remove content that violates these terms or community standards without notice.

User-generated content such as reels is reviewed before it goes live and may be reported by the community. You can flag any reel you believe breaks these terms using the report option on the reel, and our team will review it. Content found to violate our community standards may be removed and the responsible account may be suspended.

6. Suspension & Termination

  • Gramaya reserves the right to suspend or permanently terminate any account that violates these terms, engages in fraudulent activity, or poses a safety risk to others.
  • Host accounts may be removed for repeated complaints, misrepresented listings, or failure to fulfil confirmed bookings.
  • Guest accounts may be removed for property damage, harassment of hosts, or payment fraud.
  • Suspended accounts will lose access to all listings, bookings, and messages.
  • You may delete your own account at any time by contacting us via the support page. Active bookings must be resolved before deletion.

7. Liability

Gramaya is a marketplace platform, not a hospitality provider. We do not own or control host properties and are not present during stays. We cannot guarantee the accuracy of every listing detail, the condition of every property, or the conduct of every user.

In the event of a dispute or incident during a stay, Gramaya will assist in facilitating a resolution but is not liable for personal injury, property damage, or financial loss arising from a stay. Our maximum liability in any situation is limited to the amount paid for the specific booking in question.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. When we do, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify registered users by email.

Continued use of Gramaya after any update means you accept the revised terms. If you do not agree with the changes, you may close your account.
