In a community homestay the village runs the operation, not one household. A committee holds the booking, and member families take turns hosting — so the income rotates through the settlement rather than accumulating in whichever house got listed first.

The practical difference for you: you book with the committee, and you are told which family you are staying with when you arrive. Which house you get is decided by whose turn it is, not by you — that rotation is the whole point of the model.
