Rara Lake sits at 2,990 metres as Nepal's largest lake, its sapphire surface reflecting a treeline of Himalayan pine and fir so precisely that the reflection is indistinguishable from the sky above. There is no road to Rara — only a one-hour flight to Talcha or two days of trail from Jumla.
