Kanyam sits in the heart of the Ilam tea district on a ridge where the mist rolls in from the Mechi valley each evening and burns off by 8am, leaving the tea bushes beaded with dew. The sunrise from this ridge turns the rolling green hills gold before the rest of the country is awake.
