The merchant families of Bandipur conducted a trade in silk, spices, and grain between the Terai and the Himalayan passes for over 300 years, accumulating the brick mansions that still define the skyline. This house, with its projecting bay windows and carved struts, is one of the finest examples of that merchant era.
