Sauraha, Chitwan, Chitwan
Hosted by Durga Rai
The Sauraha community forests were restored from degraded farmland over 15 years by local conservation committees — a transformation that brought back deer, birds, and the occasional leopard. This village stay is on the community forest boundary and the income supports the conservation committee directly.

Things to do here
Knowing that our stay directly supported the conservation committee made us feel like we were contributing to something important. The hospitality was warm, the surroundings were peaceful, and we left with a deeper appreciation for both nature and the people protecting it. Highly recommended!
