Traditional Honey Harvest House

Ghalegaun, Lamjung

The Gurung communities of the Lamjung hills have practised cliff-face honey hunting for generations, using bamboo ropes and smoked grass torches to reach the world's largest Apis dorsata honeybee colonies. This house is owned by the family that leads the harvest each spring and autumn.
