Pilgrims from across South Asia walk through Kagbeni on the way to Muktinath, sacred to both Hindus and Tibetan Buddhists at 3,710m. Our family has hosted pilgrims for five generations in rooms insulated with tightly packed mud bricks and warmed by yak-dung stoves.
