Kagbeni, Mustang
Hosted by Jangbu Sherpa
The dried riverbed below Kagbeni yields Shaligram ammonite fossils — sacred stones venerated by Vishnu worshippers — from an ocean floor 600 million years old. Our guesthouse organises morning fossil walks with a local elder who can read the geology of the canyon like a book.
